About the Program

University Health Systems (UHS) wants to do more for people to improve their health before they reach the point of having to be hospitalized. That.s why in 1998, the hospital made a substantial donation to the Foundation to establish the Community Benefits and Health Initiatives Grants program. The hospital has continued to make annual contributions to the program, allowing this joint venture between the hospital and the foundation to continue to make a difference in the health of our community.

University Health Systems has now extended its outreach by establishing a Regional Community Benefits Grants program. This program works with UHS regional hospitals to distribute grants to their communities through their Development Councils or Foundations. An important partner in this new venture is the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, who has provided funds to help implement and support the Regional Community Benefits Grants program.
